I’m Umut Karaduman, a filmmaker, photographer, and music producer based in Istanbul. Since 2012, I’ve been creating work across film, photography, and sound through my companies JustThinkWell, JTW Film, and JTW Records.
With a background in Visual Arts and Communication Design from Bahçeşehir University, I focus on multidisciplinary storytelling that blends visuals and sound in a meaningful way. I’ve directed and produced feature films, commercials, aftermovies, and documentaries—often leading not only the direction but also the cinematography, music production, and overall creative development.
My visual approach is grounded in a deep sensitivity to light, composition, and movement. I see the camera as a narrative tool—shaping atmosphere and emotion with precision and intent. Across disciplines, whether it’s designing sound, directing a scene, or building visual language, I strive to create immersive and emotionally engaging experiences.
My work has been featured at festivals such as the International Istanbul Short Film & The Writer’s Journey Festival, Athens International Monthly Art Film Festival, and Brazil New Visions Film Festival.
Every project is an opportunity to explore new creative territory—pushing boundaries while staying rooted in authenticity and strong visual storytelling.
